Spring 2022 Updates

Construction News

The rebranding project started in the quarter. We congratulate Emily Pooley (daughter of Krystal Lezard) as the winner of the member’s art contest. Her art is being used as inspiration for the design of the new logo. The new name will be based on kiɁlawnaɁ (the syilx word for grizzly bear). We look forward to completing the rebranding project this summer.

WIBCO was successful in the award of two new custom homes that were lost during last year’s wildfires.

We were also successful on the bid for the BC First Nation Justice Council’s new office space located right here in Westbank. The new office space is approximately 3000 sq ft and is comprised of new office partitions, ceilings, a lunchroom/ kitchen, and aluminum storefront glazing/doors to create an open concept with natural light.

The FNFA office tenant improvement project was successfully completed in April 2022. The project was awarded as a stipulated price contract and was completed under budget! A special thanks to everyone involved in this challenging project. The final product is amazing and we look forward to working with FNFA again in the very near future!

We are in the pre-construction phase of a design-build of a custom home for a family who lost their home during the White Rock wildfire in 2021. The home will be approximately 1300sf with a crawl space and have two bedrooms, an ensuite, and an open-concept kitchen/living room. We anticipate the construction to start in early July 2022.

Earlier this month we secured a contract for the construction of a second home lost during last year’s wildfires in the upper Glenrosa neighbourhood. The new home will be a bungalow walkout (approximately 2300 sq ft)with open-concept living. We are currently working on a final design and hope to expedite the construction to start by early August 2022.

WIBCO Construction will be looking to add skilled workers to the team. If you’re interested, please submit your resume to paulc@wibco.ca
