Spring 2021 Updates

Construction News

WIBCO Construction has started the 2021 construction season off with the award of our first project with WFN in over a year. This project started in mid-March and is scheduled to be completed in early September 2021.

The construction industry anticipates a very busy but volatile market with the anticipation of a vaccine for Covid-19, which should entice prospective clients to proceed with projects currently on hold now that life is slowly returning to the new normal.

Due to increases in New Home Warranty premiums WIBCO has secured coverage with Travelers Insurance for their new Home Warranty program. This warranty provides 2-5-10 coverage for new homes under construction. WIBCO is proud to report that we have utilized WFN members for most of our in-house labour components over the last year.

Although material costs such as wood products are at historic highs, analysts expect the 2021 season to be a record year and we expect we will see the benefits of a healthy market. If you or someone you know is looking to build this year, we would love to hear from you!

Project Updates

WIBCO Construction is currently working on several projects, including the Fox Road Duplex Renovation for Westbank First Nation. The project includes selective demolition of the existing duplex units to incorporate the new interior and exterior finishes. The project is currently on schedule and is on track to be completed in early September 2021.

WIBCO is nearing the completion of a design-build garage/ shop in Lake Country. The project has increased in the scope of work to include Allan Block retaining walls, decorative landscaping, chain link fencing, and asphalt paving. This project is scheduled to be completed in early July 2021.

WIBCO is excited to report that we are currently in discussions with First Nations Financial Authority (FNFA) to be their contractor for their upcoming tenant improvement project. The first phase of the project will be the selective demolition of the existing space in preparation for the design stage.
